‘Moving with the Wind’ performance 24th of May in Margate, Kent

The performance of the piece ‘Moving with the Wind’ was presented on Saturday the 24th of May inside the Turner Contemporary gallery in Margate, Kent. Music, dance and textures combined interpreting the Dutch painter Piet Mondrians journey from representation to abstraction. It was a wonderful day with an engaging audience and great feedback! Video of the performance will soon be available and viewable on our blog.

Little hands make great things! Workshop with South London school music & textiles meet in preparation for Live performance 24th of May Margate

Part of the ‘Moving with the Wind’ project is to involve various communities around London in the making of both costumes, soundscapes and sculptors to be exhibited on the 24th of May in Margate beach. The integration of school children in the creative process is an exciting and unexpected journey providing much inspiration for the Build Your Worlds Collective. Build your Worlds Collective present a free textile workshop based on Mondrian’s use of colours.

Costume designer Anna and Textile artist Andrea preparing a felt making workshop, exploring flat felt and Nuno felting techniques. The workshop coincides with the opening of the exhibition “Mondrian and Colour” at Turner Contemporary. The Build Your Worlds collective will be holding a workshop on the 17th of may at Turner Contemporary’s locations in Margate. The workshop will evolve around felt making techniques, in which the work created on the day is to be used for the ‘Moving with the Wind’ presentation on the 24th of May in Margate.
